Stuck in my friends' complicated situation, need help (slightly long story)?

The guy will never allow them to break up! That girl needs to get her act together and tell him to leave her alone and get lost! He sounds pathetic to me, trying to hang on to a relationship that's going nowhere. That girl needs her friends around her to give her strength to walk away from this relationship that is a complete waste of time for both parties. Surely you can make them see it!
