Apple mac book pro MC 700 assembled in China or sony vaio VPCZ127 GG made in Japan?
So the Sony isn't actually made in Japan. Computer chips are made with some rare earth metals, and China is the only place in the world with a large supply of those metals. So the difference between the Macbook and the Vaio is that they produce the pieces in China, put them together in China, and then ship them over here (although everything is made to Apple's specification) while the Vaio components are made in China and then shipped to Japan to be put together. It's still the same pieces however.
