The In-Styler...does it work? Similar products?

i was thinking of getting the in-styler but i read some awful reviews so i'm having second thoughts. i usually use a heat protectant on my hair and straighten it. lately, i've wanted to get bouncy hair with good movement. the in-styler looked like it gave you that. but, again, the reviews. if the in-styler doesnt work to give you hair like that, what will?
